Book & Candle - Meeting with The SBS
Under A Well Defined Paradigm
The late Angela Gerald and Pete Chevert discovered that the SBS was contemplating the sale of the Belmead properties for real estate development for the SBS's financial withal. Angela and Pete jump into action to try to save our alma mater by forming a non-profit 301c3 corporation whose sole purpose to assist the SBS in its missions and preserve the history of those two fine institutions, St. Francis and St. Emma.
Over a period of eight or nine years alumni of both institutions have joined the effort to define and refine the paradigm for a successful development and implementation of missions compatible with SBS's laudable objectives. Book & Candle sole objectives is the preservation of the history, need to give back, and the skills of self-sufficiency that was taught to us as students. Book & Candle spent in excess of six years developing those synergies. The results of that work were contain in a RFP and a detail Explanation document . Apparently the paradigm changed for there was no formal response to the RFP.
Most of the Alumni that attended the schools hold those years in very high esteem. It was for those reasons that Book & Candle was very excited about being able to fulfill an SBS dream and reinvent the Belmead platform.
